Super Excited to have Outre Bride exclusively publish our Lord of the Rings inspired wedding of Arwen and Aragorn
How was it created?
The Lord of the Rings Styled Shoot was a special project for Cristina of Hermosa Weddings and Events. She planned and designed it because she is a huge fan of the trilogy. When she first watched The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001, she was so amazed. She remembers thinking what a creative movie and couldn’t wait for the second movie to come out. The good guys versus bad guys in a fantasy world with a great love story! It was inspiring to see the love between Arwen and Aragorn. Those two would do anything for each other. That is true love! They were part of the good guys and she so wanted them to end up together. Hence, she’s been inspired to plan Arwen´s and Aragorn´s wedding! After all, their wedding is what was missing from the trilogy. She knew she could create a world that they lived in.
First, she chose the color palette. The darker colors of green, purple, and burgundy fit in perfectly because the movies are on the darker and moodier side. She also wanted to use silver because it is a royal color and it was perfect to represent the King, Aragorn. Not to mention, the use of green was fitting because the location took place in the forest.
The wedding and reception took place in the forest for two reasons. One, there were so many forest scenes in the trilogy including the scene where we see the Elves´ beautiful, hidden woodland refuge. Two, she loved the talking trees from the forest. They were fascinating to watch and they helped fight the bad guys. During the shoot, she liked to think of them amongst us as we did the styled shoot.
The most interesting aspect of the styled shoot was the way all the vendors helped to incorporate bits and pieces of the trilogy. We made it a point to represent all the good guys and the world they lived in. This includes the Elves, Dwarfs, Man, and Hobbits. From Arwen´s elf ears to Frodo´s blue sword to the food and desserts being named appropriately to the custom invitation suite and to Arwen´s and Aragorn´s outfits and jewelry. Where else would you see Gandalf´s hat or the cloak clasps or Arwen´s necklace?
